I am a doctoral student in computational linguistics. The topic of my doctoral research is the automatic classification of polarity shifters in sentiment analysis. Previously I also worked on context integration in speech recognition, as well as on metaphor recognition.
I also have a strong interest in sign language linguistics and am looking to expand into that field once I complete my PhD in early 2019.
PhD in Computational Linguistics (ongoing), 2019
MSc in Language Science and Technology, 2013
BSc in Computational Linguistics, 2011
In this research project, we address shortcomings on expression-level sentiment analysis. This fine-grained level has not been examined much in previous work even though for practical applications, such as opinion question answering or summarization, it is essential.
For human beings it is taken for granted, for a technical system not implemented so far: the possibility to listen to the conversation of other people and derive activities from the understood contents. The project AcListant implemented a prototype for understanding the controller-pilot-communication.
